LYNN LICCARDO has been writing since graduating from Harvard University in 1983, first as a freelance journalist covering topics ranging from soap opera to nursing, now as a screenwriter and playwright. Her plays, "The Scarf," and "Settling In" were workshopped in the Boston area at ShadowBoxing and Playwrights Platform. "The Scarf" was presented by Acme Theaters 2002 New Works Winter Festival and Muddy Water Players 2004 Festival of New Plays. "Getting Settled" was read at the Stormy Weather Players 2004 Pregnant Chad. In 2005, "Settling In" was stage read at Playwrights Circle First Thursday Staged Readings, Palm Springs Art Museum, and received honorable mention in FirstStage LA one-act play contest. "You're Okay With That?" was part of the final (2006) Ritalin Readings at the Theatre Cooperative in Somerville. In November 2006, "Settling In" was recorded at Somerville Community Access Television (SCAT) and broadcast in March 2007.
She's competed her first screenplay, "Never Can Say Goodbye," and sketched out the treatment for the second, "The Good Father." She has several plays in progress, including a historical drama about the relationship between Daniel Webster and artist, Sarah Goodridge. |
